You Matter: 100 Acts of Love

As someone who has always had great expectations from people, situations and life in general, this quote from this week’s episode hit me differently and helped me reflect on past disappointments and pains that could have been avoided, if I had just engaged without (great) expectations.

It is not wrong to have expectations, but it is important to always communicate them with the concerned people and be open to the outcome. Our expectations are meant to be realistic. We cannot plant an apple tree and expect oranges as fruits.

If we need help, it is important to be able to properly communicate this need with loved ones. We are not just supposed to expect them to know that we need help and then get offended because they did not notice, acknowledge or even help us.

Expectations or no expectations, one thing is for sure - you matter and you have no business playing small in life. Hear it directly from Kim Hamer.
